DIRECTIONS FROM THE WEST (M62 Junction 24)

If you are approaching from the west, you can avoid Huddersfield town centre by following these directions from M62 junction 24. It is much easier than it may look and takes around 10 minutes.

1. Leave the M62 at junction 24 and turn right at the roundabout at the end of the exit slip road signed for Huddersfield.

2. Go down the short section of dual carriageway and at the large roundabout take the 3rd exit signed A643 for Brighouse.

3. Follow this road which passes underneath the M62 and drops down a hill to a set of traffic lights (the Sun Inn is across the road). Turn right at the traffic lights.

4. Follow this road (A6107) under the motorway and through a residential area until you come to the Bradley Bar roundabout.

5. Turn right here (signed A641 to Huddersfield). You will go past by some houses and a patch of woodland (behind a stone wall) on the left (watch out for the speed camera). Immediately at the end of the wood turn left onto Long Hill Road.

6. Follow this road past the new houses (several speed bumps and small roundabouts) to a T junction.

7. Turn left (you will see a dead end in front of you) and immediately right (New House Road).

8. Follow New House Road up the hill to a T junction and turn left (Deighton Road).

9. Follow this road down the hill across lots of speed bumps and you will come to two mini roundabouts. At the first mini roundabout, go straight on

10. At the second mini roundabout, take the second exit and follow the road down the hill (Whitacre St).

11. You will cross a weak bridge (one way) and come to a set of traffic lights at the junction with Leeds Road.

12. Turn right here and take the second left after the Volvo dealership – you will see a large Syngenta, Pirarmal Healthcare, James Robinson, etc sign on the roundabout off the road.

13. The visitor’s car park is immediately on your left.

14. From the visitors car park walk towards the main brick building. Cross the site entrance road via the pedestrian crossing and follow the path down the side of the building to the turnstile. Press the button and say that you have come for a meeting with your host at the Water Industry Forum.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE EAST (M62 Junction 25)

This takes around 10 minutes (off peak) and around 20 minutes (peak).

1. Leave the M62 at junction 25 and take the A644 Wakefield Road signed for Wakefield and Huddersfield (1st exit if approaching from Leeds).

2. Follow this road to a roundabout with traffic lights at the A62 junction.

3. Turn right on to Cooper Bridge Road (signed A62 for Huddersfield).

4. Carry straight on at the next set of traffic lights still signed A62 for Huddersfield (you are now on Leeds Road)

5. You will pass by a Mercedes dealership and a Honda dealership and, 2km (1.2 miles) from the traffic lights), you will see a Volvo dealership. Take the second left after the Volvo dealership – you will see a large Syngenta, Piramal Healthcare, James Robinson, etc sign on the roundabout off the road.

6. The visitor’s car park is immediately on your left.

7. From the visitors car park walk towards the main brick building. Cross the site entrance road via the pedestrian crossing and follow the path down the side of the building to the turnstile. Press the button and say that you have come for a meeting with your host at the Water Industry Forum.
