Terms and Conditions of Membership

1.  Introduction

1.1 This document sets out the rules governing membership of the Water Industry Forum (WIF). Every member is bound by all of these rules while it remains a member of WIF. 

1.2 WIF is funded by the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward, and provided under contract by Yorkshire Chemical Focus Ltd.  WIF is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.

2.  Acceptance as a Member

2.1 Applications to become a WIF member must be submitted using the on-line application form.

2.2 All applicants must ensure that the information submitted in any application form and any additional information provided is fair, complete and accurate.

2.3 Acceptance as a WIF member is at the sole discretion of the WIF Director with reference to the relevant member criteria.

3.  Member criteria

3.1 Eligibility for membership of WIF must be an organisation which supplies water and waste water products and services and has a base in Yorkshire and Humber.

3.2 Full members are those which have been accepted as eligible and have paid the relative membership fee.

3.3 Associate members are those which have been accepted as eligible and have not paid a membership fee.

4.  Conduct

4.1 Every WIF member must ensure that it updates WIF of any relevant changes (including contact details or any issue relevant to the criteria for membership).

4.2 The primary contact is responsible for updating the data held on the website relevant to the company. 

5. Annual Subscriptions

5.1 The current annual subscription rates are based on the member organisation’s UK turnover of water and waste water related activities.  Details of member subscription rates can be found on our website http://www.waterindustryforum.com/member-services/become-a-member/membership-summary/

5.2 A one-off registration fee will apply to all new members to cover administration and set up costs.

5.3 All annual subscriptions for new members cover a 12 month period from the date of commencement.  This is the date of issue of the initial invoice.

5.4 Full membership for new members will lapse 30 days after the initial invoice date if no payment is received. 

5.5 Subscriptions are not refundable under any circumstances.

5.6 Further annual subscriptions are to be paid in respect of each further year of membership.

5.7 Full membership will lapse 30 days after the renewal date if no payment is received.

5.8 The WIF Director may vary subscription rates at any time.  Please note that the cost of annual subscription will be reviewed periodically.

6. Expulsion

6.1 The WIF Director may expel any member where they breach any of these rules.

7. Data protection and related matters

7.1 No Member shall use any trademark or intellectual property right of WIF without the prior written approval of the WIF Director. No member shall use the WIF logo or words “Member of the Water Industry Forum”

7.2 WIF will use the information provided by members (including the information provided on application forms) for the following purposes: administration of membership records; advertising, marketing and public relations for WIF and contacting you with other information relating to the activities of WIF.

7.3 Any communications you send to the website are on a non-confidential basis and WIF is under no obligation to refrain from reproducing, publishing or otherwise using them in any way or for any purpose.

8. General

WIF may amend these terms and conditions from time to time. You will be bound by any changes we may make to these terms of use and therefore we recommend that you view the current version from time to time by clicking on the link from the website.

Refer a Friend Scheme

Definitions

"the Referral ": to personally recommend, endorse, and pass a potential new member to the Water Industry Forum.

"the Referred": a qualifying potential member of the Water Industry Forum new to and who has not previously been a full member of the Water Industry Forum.

"the Referrer": full or associate members who personally recommend, endorse, and pass a potential new member to the Water Industry Forum.

"Water Industry Forum (WIF)": WIF is funded by the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward, and provided under contract by Yorkshire Chemical Focus Ltd.  WIF is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee.

1. The Water Industry Forum incentive payment is £50. 

2. Referral incentives will only be credited against the next full membership renewal.

3. Every referred customer must sign up to full membership in order for the referrer to benefit from the incentive.

4. A referral incentive will not be paid in the event that the referred person/business already appears on the Water Industry Forum database as a full member. 

5. There are no limits to the number of referrals an individual can make.

6. The referred person/business must state the name, organisation and postcode of the person referring them at point of initial contact for the referrer to qualify for the scheme. 

7. Water Industry Forum will not reward any person under the Refer a Friend scheme if such details are offered after full membership has been acquired. 

8. Water Industry Forum reserves the right to refuse payment of a referral incentive in instances of suspected abuse.

9. Water Industry Forum reserves the right to amend or withdraw the Refer a Friend scheme at any time.

10. No alternative will be offered to the publicised referral incentive.

11. Referral incentives are non-transferable.
