Chem Resist's expertise seals the deal for Feralco

Complimentary comments from happy Chem Resist clients in a trade magazine prompted Feralco UK’s Technical Operations Director Neil Clarke and Project Manager Kevin Parkes to pick up the phone and investigate further:-

Following a meeting with Simon Hewitt, Chem Resist’s Managing Director, confidence was further reinforced by the fact that assistance in managing the project was provided by Chem Resist alongside Feralco.
Largest aluminium sulphate provider
Feralco is a leading manufacturer of high performance water treatment and process chemicals – principally aluminium sulphate and polyaluminium chloride – for the treatment of drinking water, process water, sewage and industrial effluents and the processing of paper.
The company is the largest supplier by volume of aluminium sulphate to key water utilities which include Thames Water, Scottish Water and Yorkshire Water.
Historically Feralco have sourced tanks from a supplier which does not usually assist in the wider aspects of a project.
Technical expertise
The project objective was to significantly increase capacity and production at the company’s Widnes plant, which required the design and installation of two large bulk storage tanks and two chemical mixing tanks together with associated process pipe work and pumps. Neil says:-
“It’s obvious that Chem Resist have the technical expertise, but Simon and his team also have a ‘can do’ down to earth attitude and that gave us the confidence to go with Chem Resist. A decision, I have to say, that has been fully justified”.
Were there any issues relating to GRP versus Thermoplastic?
“None whatsoever” Kevin asserts, “that was never a consideration for us. The only question we ask is are the tanks suitable for our requirements, and they patently are. The whole project went very well with minimum disruption and interference with ongoing production”.
