Case Study - Natural Cement Distribution Ltd
Natural Cement's fast setting mortar pre-mix ensured works are completed on time
With the help of Natural Cement Distribution Ltd's Natcem 35, Stonbury Ltd recently carried out work to 22 Rapid Gravity Filter Tanks and Outfall Channels at Ponsticill WTW for Welsh Water.
The refurbishment works included concrete repair and specialised coating works to the Rapid Gravity Tanks and outfall channels, which included high pressure water jetting to the walls, floors and outfall channels to remove loose debris and aggregates in preparation for concrete repairs and coating to tanks. After the initial preparation works the next stage was to repair the floors using a DWI approved mortar. The repairs were necessary to level out the area prior to the elastomeric waterproof coating. Natural Cement based product NATCEM 35 which was used for the concrete repairs is a fast setting, fast curing mortar with rapid strength gain allowing over coating early. This was imperative for this project as it is for many other projects carried out by Stonbury and other contractors as down time is critical. The unique properties of the Natcem 35 mean that it does not require 28 days to cure which ensured that Stonbury were able to hand back the completed works on time. Other benefits to Natural Cement Distributions products are that they can be used in both the clean or dirty water environments as they have excellent resistance to pure and sulphated water and many chemicals. Thanks to our products at Natural Cement Distribution Ltd this is just one job of many that can be completed with rapid and precise execution.
