Call for Abstracts - 17th International Computing & Control for the Water Industry Conference

Date: 17th April 2019

Location: University of Exeter

International Computing & Control for the Water Industry (CCWI) 2019 welcomes submissions from all areas with relevance to computing and control in the water industry and especially the emerging ‘WATER 4.0’ agenda. Submissions will be reviewed by the committees and accepted extended abstracts will be classified into oral presentations and posters. For both, a two-page extended abstract will be required. Proceedings with extended abstracts will be distributed. Selected authors will be invited to submit papers for a special issue in the Urban Water Journal.

A prize will be awarded to the best extended abstract from an Early Career Researcher (no more than 3 years post PhD).

The main theme of the conference is WATER 4.0, which de-scribes the comprehensive bringing together and exploitation of the digital and physical worlds leading to water service transformation. This three day event will address this through a combination of keynote lectures, oral and poster sessions.

CCWI 2019 invites contributions on the following topics:

- Smart systems and digitalisation, cyber-physical systems
- Advances in sensors, instrumentation and communica-tions technologies
- Big Data management and exploitation
- Data driven and soft computing analytics and visualisa-tion
- Systems modelling, optimisation, active control and deci-sion support
- Water quality modelling: pipe, sewer, environment
- Water and wastewater treatment modelling, optimisation and control
- Asset management and performance modelling
- Demand, leakage, energy and greenhouse gases man-agement
- Distributed and multi-functional systems (e.g. rainwater management systems)
- Flood modelling and management
- Building sustainability and resilience
- Building information modelling in the water sector

Abstract deadline is 17 April 2019.  The conference is being held at University of Exeter on 1 - 4 September 2019.
