18th RRC Annual Network Conference

"River Restoration: Addressing Uncertainty"
  The RRC Annual Network Conference aims to capture a wide ranging view of river and catchment restoration and to provide a unique opportunity to connect all functions interested in, and involved with, restoring and managing healthy, functioning rivers. 

This conference should equally appeal to river restoration practitioners, flood risk managers, Lead Local Flood Authority staff, Catchment Partnerships, river engineers, planners, consultants, contractors, agencies, natural and social scientists, environmental economists, trusts and NGOs with a requirement to restore rivers and their natural processes under the various EU directives and UK policies.
Topics at the 2017 Conference will include:

  • Hard engineering removal and green restoration techniques
  • Urban river enhancement and flood risk
  • Geomorphological design, surveying and modelling
  • Natural flood management
  • Community engagement in restoration projects
  • Costs of river restoration 

Conference Format
The conference will mix 48 presentations with 5 half-day workshops, 2 site visits and poster presentations. There will also be a prize for the best poster as judged by the delegates. There will also be ample opportunity to network with delegates from a variety of professions.
2017 UK River Prize
The UK River Prize will once again feature at this year’s Conference. The winner of the Nigel Holmes Trophy will be announced on the evening of the second day (4th April 2017).
