Boreholes Used for Private Water Supplies - drilling, construction, risk assessment & problems
Date: 24th January 2012
Location: Aqua Enviro Training Suite, Wakefield
The 2009 Private Water Supplies Regulations introduced a radical new regime for private water supplies. Reliance on end-testing was replaced by comprehensive risk assessment confirmed by monitoring. Improvements to water supplies will involve source protection measures and treatment identified through that risk assessment process.
When organising and carrying out these risk assessments personnel are required by law to be “competent” to carry them out. This competency covers many area including geological and Hydrogeological considerations, overland flow characteristics, source protection measures and a thorough understanding of potential contaminants and their significance. This seminar has been designed to provide that competency.
It will bring together a range of leading experts who can answer these questions and who will be on hand to share their knowledge and answer any technical questions you may have.
This training is suitable for a range of environmental health practitioners from beginners, through practiced risk assessors to managers who need to be quickly brought up to speed on the practicalities of the new regulations. It will also be useful for consultant and local authority support staff.
