British Hydrological Society – The hydrological implications of renewable energy
Date: 19th January 2012
Location: The Institute of Civil Engineers, London
The recent Durban summit has put climate change mitigation again high on the agenda. Exploring the opportunities of renewable energy is fundamental to decreasing and eventually eliminating our dependence on fossil fuels, the main cause of global warming. However, energy and water are closely linked, and the adoption of renewable energy sources will affect the water cycle. Three hydrologists shine a light on the diversity of potential hydrological implications of the migration towards renewable energy.
