CIWEM - Introduction to Constructed Wetland Technology

Date: 15th June 2016

Location: 106-109 Saffon Hill, London EC1N 8QS

CIWEM Partnership Workshop

Constructed wetlands play an important role in terms of providing wastewater, sludge and runoff treatment, and floodwater retention. They are being used all over the world, offering solutions to many water quality issues and treating a range of effluents including domestic sewage, industrial wastewater, agricultural diffuse pollution and urban surface runoff.

They are not simply another alternative to existing technology. A wealth of experience in their design and operation is already available, whilst novel applications of the technology grow.

This joint interactive workshop with the Constructed Wetland Association will provide an introduction to constructed wetland technologies and their application to sewage treatment, industrial effluents, and agricultural catchment management. It will present the latest technological developments and approaches with a series of case studies, their ongoing management and maintenance requirements, and identify the additional benefits they provide through interactive workshop sessions.
