Preparing for Retail Competition in the Water Sector

Date: 19th January 2016

Location: House of Commons

5 pm to 6 pm • House of Commons (room tbc)

The All Party Parliamentary Water Group (APPWG) will be holding its first meeting of the New Year on Tuesday 19th January, 5.00pm-6.00pm in the House of Commons (room tbc), focusing on the introduction of retail competition in the water sector.

From April 2017, non-household water customers in England will be able to choose who supplies their water for the first time. There is still a great deal of work to be done to prepare the industry and customers for the introduction of competition. This meeting will discuss the steps taken so far, what the next steps need to be and what the industry, customers and wider stakeholders want to achieve as we move towards retail competition.

Our expert guest speakers, Ben Jeffs, Chief Executive of Market Operator Services Limited (MOSL) and Ken McRae, COO of Gemserv will provide their perspectives followed by a Q&A session.

We hope that you are able to join us for this topical and necessary debate.
