How to Network - Young Water Professionals Seminar & Reception

Networking is increasingly valued by employers as a key skill for successful leadership, team working and improving performance. This seminar and workshop is aimed at young professionals from across the water industry and will focus on the key aspects of networking such as:-

  • growing influence
  • building relationships
  • benefits of social capital

Bruce McLeod from Engine for Enterprise will lead a one-hour workshop offering tips and advice to improve your skills in this area.

Our special guest speaker, Rosa Foster - Environment Agency, will provide an insight into the challenges of partnership working and experiences of networking within the industry.

The seminar will be followed by the opportunity to practice your networking skills during a drinks reception from 5pm. A selection of alcoholic/soft drinks and canapés will be available during the informal networking (drinks max. 2 per person and canapés are included in the price).

Rosa Foster - Strategic Partnerships & Project Manager, Environment Agency

 

 

 

 

Rosa joined the Environment Agency in 2004, having gained a BSc (Hons) in Applied Geology from Kingston University and an MSc in Water Management from Cranfield. She currently works for the EA within Yorkshire Flood Risk Management, working with partners to drive sustainable environmental solutions to improve resilience. She is a member of the Leeds Climate Commission and Leeds City Region Green Economy Panel, a joint partnership between local government and private sector businesses, formed to develop a cutting-edge energy infrastructure for the region with the main objective of decreasing carbon emissions, whilst increasing economic output and employment.

Rosa will share her experiences on the challenges of partnership working and networking within the industry.
