The move from delivering outputs to outcomes, together with a shift from capex and opex-led investment programmes to a totex approach in AMP6 represents a step change in how the water companies will do business in the future. AMP6 presents different challenges for the water companies as they move away from large capital-intensive projects to more investment in asset maintenance.

The change means the water companies will also be looking to their supply chains at every level for different skill sets and expertise which will help them make more of their existing assets. The Tier alliances who will work on the AMP6 contracts have already put considerable effort into developing their strategies for working with the water companies. So how can the Tier 2 companies and other suppliers develop their AMP6 business strategies?

Our speaker, Elaine Coles, is a water industry expert with an in-depth knowledge of the AMP contract process and the key players. She has written extensively on flood risk management, climate change, water, and waste, and their impact on the water sector.  Elaine is also the publisher of ‘The Complete AMP Contracts and Contractors Report’, which is the most comprehensive report of its kind.  Now in its 6th Edition, the report provides a detailed update on all the major AMP6 contracts now in place, together with details of contracts awarded during AMP5 with extensions into AMP6.

At this discussion forum Elaine will provide an overview of the contract changes in AMP6 and their impact on the supply chain. This will be followed by a Q&A session giving the opportunity for contractors and suppliers to get an expert’s view and guidance on specific challenges around winning in business in AMP6 and beyond.
