The Water Industry Forum, with the UK Water Research and Innovation Partnership (UKWRIP) is organising a workshop to explore the potential for a national approach to growing sales of the UK service sector in UK and global water markets.

On the 11th March UKWRIP launched the report  “HTechO Tapping the Potential: A Fresh Vision for UK Water Technology” at a reception in the Houses of Parliament in London with the ultimate aim of growing “UK water technology” sales across UK and world markets.  The report, which was supported by the Government  Chief Scientific Advisor, Sir Mark Walport, sets out a plan to grow the UK’s share of the global market in water technology innovation from 3% to at least 10% by 2030, representing an increase from £1.5 billion to £8.8 billion per year.  (A copy of the report can be found here: http://www.ukwrip.org//publications/htecho-tapping-potential-fresh-vision-uk-water-technology.)

This workshop will begin with an overview of the approach adopted in the UKWRIP report.  It will then seek to gain answers to the following questions:

  • Should we adopt a similar approach for exploring how to grow the UK service sector?
  • How much can the recommendations from this report be applied to the services area?
  • What specific approach should we take?
  • What key components are required?
  • What are the likely benefits of adopting this approach?
  • What are the potential hurdles to overcome?
  • Who should we involve?

The workshop is being supported by the Natural Environment Research Council via UKWRIP.

There is no charge for this event.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR WIF PARTNERS, FULL MEMBERS AND SELECTED GUESTS ONLY.

TO REGISTER PLEASE RESPOND DIRECTLY TO YOUR INVITATION.
