This seminar, hosted by Crossrail’s BIM Advancement Academy, offers an exciting opportunity to experience how Business Information Modelling (BIM) has been used in the design, construction and operation of Crossrail’s £15.9 billion project.

The Academy is developing and promoting BIM best practice in the Crossrail supply chain in a way that it can be shared by other UK projects, with the aim of enhancing supply chain knowledge, driving innovation in BIM.

We will explore current industry thinking surrounding BIM and follow with Crossrail’s BIM vision and how they are technically achieving increased efficiency, cost savings and improved safety.  We will then explore how a similar approach would benefit the water sector.

Crossrail is the largest infrastructure project in Europe, due for completion in 2018. Key to the design, construction and operation of this new high capacity railway link, connecting east and west London, is the use of Business Information Modelling (BIM) throughout the project.
