This seminar offers a unique experience to hear from our guest speakers, senior leaders from the water and environment sectors, who will provide an insight into their experiences of working within the industry.

Join us for a delicious brunch and informal networking with colleagues from across the sector.

The event will also include the opportunity to submit your questions to our speakers during an extensive panel / audience Q&A session, to share and explore the issues around promoting the professional growth and success of women working specifically in water and the environment.



Rachel Fletcher, Chief Executive, Ofwat

Rachel joined Ofwat as Chief Executive in January 2018. She aims to improve the performance, affordability, sustainability, resilience and corporate behaviours of the water sector and to position the sector to address the strategic challenges associated with climate change and population growth in an affordable and environmentally sustainable way. 

Before joining Ofwat, she spent 12 years at Ofgem, most recently as Senior Partner for Consumers and Competition and an executive member of the Ofgem Board. Before joining Ofgem, Rachel worked as a consultant advising on energy strategy and policy.

As Chief Executive Rachel sits on the Ofwat Board.


Tania Flasck, Director & Head of Utilities - UK Infrastructure, Turner & Townsend

Tania is Director of Infrastructure for the central south region of the UK as well as Head of Utilities with Turner & Townsend. Previously, she was a Vice President with Jacobs UK. An environmental professional with over 20 years’ experience predominantly in the water sector, she has worked all over the world bringing strategy and projects to life.  

Tania’s formative years were spent commissioning and operating water & wastewater treatment facilities in the UK as well as USA, subsequently progressing into a variety of leadership roles in project delivery, strategy and business development.

Tania has won awards for effective knowledge sharing and collaboration, has published several technical articles and has led multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed teams to win work.


Dr Phillippa Pearson, Head of Water Services Science, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water

Phillippa is Head of Water Services Science at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and has worked in the water industry for 17 years.

After completing her PhD at Aberystwyth University, Phillippa joined Severn Trent Water in 2003, before moving to Welsh Water in 2006.

Phillippa is responsible for water quality from source to tap including Catchment Management, Process Science and Water Quality Science.

In her previous role as Catchment Manager, she was responsible for developing and delivering the award winning WaterSource catchment approach.

Phillippa is a Chartered Scientist and Chartered Environmentalist, and was named the Society of the Environment’s Environmental Professional of the Year 2017 and a finalist for Chwarae Teg’s Womanspire Leader of the Year.
