Met Office Joins WIF as an Industry Partner

We are delighted to announce that the Met Office has joined the Water Industry Forum as an Industry Partner.

The Met Office is the UK's National Weather Service and is a world leader in providing weather and climate services. They are recognised as one of the world's most accurate forecasters, using more than 10 million weather observations a day, an advanced atmospheric model and a high performance supercomputer to create 3,000 tailored forecasts and briefings a day.

In addition to the Public Weather Service and National Severe Weather Warning Service, they also provide tailored advice and services for a range of clients to help them begin adapting to the consequences of climate change.

WIF Chief Executive, Peter Drake, said, "The Met Office significantly strengthen WIF's aims to tackle the future challenges facing the UK water industry." He added, "Following the recent decision by the Environment Agency to join WIF as a partner, the Met Office further demonstrates our belief that these challenges can only be tackled successfully by engagement of stakeholders from across the water sector."
