WIF Strengthens University Ties

As the only neutral and independent stakeholder forum for the UK water sector, WIF is keen to engage with the widest possible range of stakeholders at the highest level.

Recognising the huge contribution that Universities can make, WIF has recently introduced the new membership category of WIF Academic Partner.  We are therefore delighted to welcome our first Academic Partners, Cranfield University, the University of Exeter and the University of Sheffield.

Prof. Paul Jeffrey, Head of the Cranfield Water Science Institute and Director of the STREAM Industrial Doctorate Centre, commented: “Recent years have seen a much greater emphasis from research funders on ensuring that the work they support has demonstrable practical value and impact.  Working more closely with WIF will provide us with opportunities for new collaborations and routes to knowledge dissemination and exploitation.”

Prof. Jeffrey added “WIF events provide a non-aligned environment within which the research and practitioner communities can freely discuss challenges and solutions in new ways and we are very much looking forward to playing a major role in such discussions."
