Work with us - Associate Director role (part-time)
The Water Industry Forum (WIF) launched in 2012 as a not-for-profit stakeholder forum for the whole of the UK water sector. Our membership comprises around 600 UK organisations including government, regulators, regional water companies, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, research organisations, third sector organisations and investors. Our direction and focus is determined by our board of non-executive directors on a voluntary basis.
Our primary aim is to tackle the many challenges facing the UK water sector through facilitated collaborative working. We do this by providing a forum that is both neutral and independent. This allows us to bring together and engage a wide range of stakeholders to focus on the specific challenges identified by WIF’s partners. Our partners include

As our membership increases and the range of challenges and opportunities in which we are involved grow, we recognise that we also need to grow. We are therefore planning to create the role of Associate Director, and would welcome hearing from anyone interested in working as a part-time Associate Director alongside our CEO, Peter Drake, on a flexible basis.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- a broad knowledge of the UK water sector built up over a wide ranging career in the water industry
- the ability to create great personal relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
- the ability to listen, specify, plan, facilitate & project manage in response to member needs.
The role would particularly suit someone who:
- is retired, semi-retired or contemplating retirement
- wants to ‘make a difference’ and ‘put something back’ into the water sector.
