World Economic Forum Highlights Water Risks

The World Economic Forum has published The Global Risks Report 2017, 12th Edition. A key contribution in the analysis is the Global Risks Perception Survey (GRPS) which brings together perspectives from different age groups, countries and sectors, including business, academia, government and civilians.

The report highlights the challenges and risks in the environmental category, requiring global cooperation. Over the past decade, environment-related risks have shown an increased significance in the survey, standing out this year. Extreme weather events, climate change adaptation and water crises culminate in environmental concerns being more prominent than ever with the five risks in this category being assessed as being above average in terms of both impact and likelihood.
